SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER AND WAS IT A HOT ONE THIS YEAR!!!  It's time for our fall kick off!!   We are looking forward to seeing all of YOU 50s folks at the quarterly Tech Dinner.  Come join all of your lifelong friends on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 5:30pm until ??? at the Piccadilly, 5272 Mt. Moriah View & I240 behind the hotel.  Don't come alone - bring a fellow Techite or a friend. NO ONE can take your place!!  It will be awesome to see everyone, so come on, come visit for a little while!!!

The 2010 BBQ was a huge success!!!!  A fun time was definitely had by all. A special thanks to all who made it happen, especially to John Hudson who flew in from Texas to be our wonderful 'DJ' and to our committee - Lavoyd & Gwen Luttrell '55, Barbara Clifton Dooley '55, Irma Phifer Cresswell '56, Tom 'Cat' Harmon '55, Manuel Bell '57, Bobby & Frances Gaines '57, Wanda Martin '56, Betty Blakey Cook '56, Ronnie & Nancy Bryant '56, Barbara 'Beebe' Colby '57, Kay Walden Pruitt '57, Jimmy Rogers '57, Joan Caldwell Lemser '55 and to our great leader of the pack Edith Taylor Langlois!!!  Also, to those who came early and stayed late to help clean up - George & Libby Jeu '56, Thomas & Mary Lee King '55, '56 and many others!!  Again Much Thanks-- Sincerely!!.

Wasn't it a wonderful blessing to see so many Techites from out of town - Estelle Riley '55 , Betty Jo Turner Lee '56, Sonja Bailey Kammer '57, Billie Cain McCollum '56, Richard & Doris Pilgrim '55 '56, Jimmy Hall & wife '57, Terry 'Ducky' Stigall '55, Jim & Ann Poindexter Hunter '55, Shirley Stanfill Smith '55, Jimmy Rogers & Lillian Jones '57, Glen Rainey '55.  If anyone was left out please forgive us and let us know because we were so glad to see all of you there!!!

Dancing and enjoying the music were Rawley & Jean Cain, Ronnie & Nancy Bryant, Lavoyd & Gwen Luttrell, Jimmy Rogers who danced with Lillian, Estelle and others, Joan Lemser & John Hudson (with a little Tx two step also) - Bobby & Frances Gaines, Manuel was on that floor with how many girls dancing? Billie, Sonja, Joan, Betty Jo and how many others!!  You go Manuel!!!  Our handsome Coach Jim Sivert danced with Beebe, Burma, and several others!  Ann Hutchens brought Jack -- So glad she is back in circulation from being under the weather for several months and yep - back out shopping !!

MISCELLANEOUS TECH NEWS - Barbara Dooley went to Israel - how awesome - and also on a Windjammer trip, Martin Willis '56 now has a 3 wheel bike and going all over on it!!

Jean Cain dancing - Delta Fair Wed. Sept. 8, 3pm what fun!  Also pictures in paper of Johnny Capers surprise 70th birthday !!

Please remember these Techites in your prayers who have been under the weather - Red & Dot Strickland, John Hudson recovering from surgery, Dot Taylor Coker, Nancy Kelly, JoAnn McIlvain , Charles 'Buck' Thomas' wife Linda, also Billy Ray LaFerney's wife '57 was in a car accident, and our prayers go out to those families who have lost loved ones - Buddy Moose's wife Delores Unsworth Moose '55; Dorothy Lemmons (Tommy's wife); Pat Wade Rutherford's husband; Rawley and Jean in loss of his sister.  If we have left anyone out, please let us know.  We are so sorry if anyone was missed.  Remember Pat Joyner and Barbara Lyle Kelley- caregivers for loved ones.  Bless you!

Remember several 50s Tech graduates meet the 3rd Sat of every month at the Piccadilly in Germantown on Exeter Rd.  They have invited all to come.  This is a great group and we are so happy some of them are also coming to the dinners (Bill Lloyd, Bill Godwin, Jerry Taylor, Ann Parish are a few).
